The Ressidorf

Foundation and development reported by the founder, her "best assistance through all the years" and a long-time inhabitant.

As she knew some people, who had no accommodation for the next winter, Linde Ressi started in autumn 1995 to search for winter-quarters for them. Finally, this place has been found, containers have been set up and still before Christmas, on the 22nd December 1995, the so called "Doerfl" was opened and within shortest time those 5 containers have been crowded.

One of those five served as kitchen, office, administrative point, community-area, ... one container as central point for all 16 inhabitants ("it was really thick of smoke"). In the course of time housings like building-vans, campers, minibuses have been added and got away again – also a tent was pitched during one summer – and the number of inhabitants found its level at approximately 20 persons. Mainly it are male, who are living in the village, but it also offers accommodation for couples, a woman alone has lived here only one time – that’s one of the nice village-stories, what finished with a wedding. Dogs belong to the village-life anyway.

Ressidorf is a low-threshold institution: it offers shelter, meal and the satisfaction of sanitary needs, "but we are not there all around the clock" - however it offers "home" for those, who stay there and it gives help for a re-start for those, who go on into an apartment and often the Ressidorf remains as a station of call for any difficulties for many years. It serves as point of call for those who come from the street and who are happy, if they can sleep "in a warm bed".

Even if many "difficult" people live here, it are "already more than 80 people, whom I helped on through the village ... that makes sense... it brought some good results".

The village should be developed further, for example that the containers are replaced by houses "that at everyone... can retire a bit, that would be important", just because everyone, who comes here, "has pent-up so much", because they all have a difficult background.
