In the course of its project "offside the net,
KAVN-village" in the Vinzidorf (Graz) KUNST://ABSEITS VOM NETZ became aware of the
initiative of Mrs. M. Linde Ressi in the year 1998.

Under the title "the forgotten village" the artists start to work there in the
Herrgottwiesgasse 67 - the naming "Ressidorf" by the artists was and is a sign
of respect for the founder.Here also those people
can stay, who have been excluded from the container-settlement Vinzidorf or who are not
allowed to stay in any other public shelter.
Together with the management of Ressidorf strategies have
been developed to be tied up closer to the public social and monetary supporting-network,
what has been successful until today. |
What has been initiated so far:
• a) construction of a Communication-Center (COMCEN) including a kitchen
• b) gaining the Caritas, diocese Graz-Seckau as responsible body
• c) preserving of the location in the Herrgottwiesgasse 67
• d) improvement of the care-structure (1 full-time care-person, civilian-servant)
• e) setting-up of the free accessible utilization of the medium Internet
• f) planning and development of a new accommodation-structure beyond the
container-existence
• g) establishment of contacts to subsidizing authorities of Styria and Graz for the
realization of the restructuring of the place
• h) realization of the project for reorganization by the municipality Graz/Building
Surveyor’s Office (start in spring 2002)
• i) integration of the project "the forgotten village" to the concept of
the Cultural Capital Graz 2003 within the scope of the "permanent/temporary urban
sculpture Graz"
Here the municipality of Graz signals - like also already
with the settlement "Grünanger" - a new consideration when confronted with
residential- and living-forms offside of the norm.. |
